Kingdom Prayer: Prayer in Action

We have been unpacking the significance of Kingdom Prayer over the last few weeks.

Quick recap:

-           Kingdom Prayer can turn the battle! Spiritual battles are won with spiritual weapons, and prayer is key in our armoury (Ephesians 6:10-12).

-           Elijah was a human being just like us (James 5:17-18), yet his prayers were powerful and shifted things in the nation.

We can all become Kingdom pray-ers who flow with the Spirit to see God’s Kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. Together as a body of Christ made up of different parts (1 Corinthians 12), we are invited to partner with the Holy Spirit, to be led from listening and for our prayers to lead us to action.

Let’s pray!

Grab your Bible, journal and a coffee (if needed!) and spend some time praying through the prayer points below, either by yourself or in a group. ‍

1.       Spiritual awakening of the nation (Habakkuk 3:1-2).

Father God, we believe you are mighty and powerful. You are the true King, and we pray for an awakening in hearts to your presence and your truth. We stand in awe of your deeds and we pray, repeat them in our day, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

2.       Restoration of godly foundations and biblical truth (1 Corinthians 3:11, Isaiah 58:12).

Jesus, you are the true foundation, the only Cornerstone. Help us to build our lives upon You. We pray that neighbourhoods and nations would be build upon Your Word, truth and wisdom. Repair and rebuild ancient age-old foundations we pray, in Jesus, Amen.

3.       Church to operate in supernatural power (1 Corinthians 2:4).

‍ ‍Father God, we trust and believe in the power of Your Holy Spirit. May the body of Christ move in supernatural power, in Jesus’ name. We pray that our everyday activities and words would demonstrate your power, so that people would come to know You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

4.       Transformation of communities (Matthew 28:18-10).

‍ ‍Father God, thank you that you desire all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Help us to reach out to our communities to see Kingdom transformation, from neighbourhoods to nations. We pray for a boldness of believers, and that we would be moved by compassion, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

5.       Kingdom leadership to arise for the church and the nation (Ephesians 4:12-13).

‍ ‍Father, we thank you that You appoint leaders and people to govern. We pray for the people You choose to rise up and lead with godly integrity and wisdom, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
