Kingdom People: The Power of Testimony

The power of testimony is vital for every believer and non-believer. When we remember what God has done for us, our faith rises for what He can do again.

‍Life is a journey of battles and blessings, and we don’t want to be so consumed by the battle that we forget the blessings that God has already given us. We mustn’t let today’s struggle erase yesterday’s miracles. We must remember the times that God has rescued us and carried us, the doors He has opened and how He strengthened us, so that while we are wating for our next testimony, we remember what we already have.

In the Bible, God constantly tells His people to remember his goodness, His faithfulness, His mighty acts and His covenant. Why? Because what we remember shapes what we believe, and what we believe shapes how we live.

In 1 Samuel 17:33-37, Saul questions the ability of David to fight Goliath, the huge Philistine threat to Israel. David’s response is to recall and remember how God has protected and strengthened him previously. David’s testimony became his confidence for the battle.

What battle are you facing right now that requires you to remember and recall God’s faithfulness?

Let’s not start by looking at the size of the giant or the battle, but by looking at who God is.

Our testimonies are more than just stories; they are also reminders of what God has done.

There are things that God is preparing for us right now that we can’t yet see. There are people that He is positioning, or perhaps it is healing, provision of the restoration of a relationship. Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not in motion

‍Long before we were born, God already prepared Jesus and His sacrifice upon the cross for us. God provided Jesus to carry our sin, our guilt, our shame and our sickness. If we belong to Jesus, we have a testimony.

‍John 10:10 encourages us to be aware that the enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy, but that Jesus has come so that we can have abundant life in Him. Jesus has overcome all evil and darkness, so that we can walk with Him, have a relationship with Him and experience life as God intended it to be.

Jesus has made it possible for our life to be upgraded. We don’t have to live in economy, we can live in abundance if we continue to remember Jesus and all that He has done for us.

Remember how Jesus has saved you. Remember how He has carried you. Remember how He has provided for you.

Don’t listen to the voice of fear of doubt, but recall to mind God’s faithfulness, just like David did. You can live from grace. Yesterday’s testimony will give you faith for today’s battle.
