Kingdom People: Divine Assignment

‍ ‍

Divine Alignment

Have you ever made bad choices? Perhaps you’ve left the house on a rainy day without an umbrella, or you choose to drink tea over coffee (!!), or perhaps they are more serious decisions with more serious consequences.

Proverbs 19:3 says, ‘A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.’ Proverbs 19:3

‍Sometimes, we make bad choices and then we rage against God. However, the real issue is that something in our lives is out of alignment. Just like a slipped disc in your back causes pain by being out of alignment, things in our lives can cause pain when they aren’t aligned with the Father.

Over time, we can develop blind spots and learn to put up with a diminished life. But the Father wants us to flourish and be fruitful. Wisdom is to bring our lives into divine alignment.

Things like unforgiveness, selfishness, and withholding love can cause issues. Yet, if we get these things right in our lives, it opens up the divine floodgates and brings the blessing of God into our homes and families. Our behaviour can impact generations to come.

‍Let’s bring our time, our giving, our finances and our thoughts into alignment with the Father.

Divine Assignment

1)       Prosper where you are- The Lord wants you to do well where you are right now.

Sometimes we look to the future for our destiny, but God says He wants you to prosper where you are right now.

29:5-7 says, ‘Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.’

This is a picture of prosperity for us even today. Your destiny begins now. Pray for the neighbourhood where you live and build relationships so that God’s blessings will touch the place He has put you.

2)       Prosper in family- You are part of a family, and your assignment is as part of this family.

We don’t just go to church, we are part of the family of God because of the blood of Jesus, the body of Christ, and we belong to each other. We need each other.

‍ Ephesians 4:11-13 says, ‘So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.’

The body of Christ is made up of all sorts of people and is not always easy but does bring great fruitfulness.

3)       Prosper in your story- You have a unique story from the Father.

‍Psalm 139:16 says, ‘Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.’

‍Your days are ordained by God. Your work is unique to you. In medical research, in factories, in business or wherever you are called- nobody is better than anyone. Because of God’s creativity, we are all different with different gifts and that’s a good thing. You fit into the body of Christ with your unique calling.

So, in our Divine Assignment, God wants us to prosper where we are, to be committed to the family of God and to live out our distinct story.

Pray:

Lord, shine your light over my life so that I can bring my thinking, behaving, speaking and planning into Your divine alignment for my life. Lord, help me to prosper where I am placed and to see the prosperity of my neighbourhood. Give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to know my unique calling, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
