Kingdom People
If you truly believed that the Heavenly Father looked for you and wanted to use you, how would this truth empower you?
Scripture tells us that the Lord looks for people to stand up on behalf of others (Ezekiel 22:30), and that the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9).
In a culture that constantly tries to shape us—through pressure, pace, and performance—Scripture calls us to something radically different: to be a people seen by and formed by God Himself. The Christian life is not simply about what we believe, but who we are becoming and how we are living for Him, impacting the people around us.
Your life story is a short story, and your short story sits inside of God's big story. You will learn your story by walking with the One who has written it.
Truth comes from the Heavenly Father, and a false reality is created by the world. Things like money, entertainment and social media try to shape our lives and distract us from eternal riches. When you learn to see yourself in the light of who God is and who He's called you to be, your life will take on a new significance.
You are chosen. You are called. You're a priest (1 Peter 2:9), which simply means you minister to God, but you also minister to people on behalf of God. You pray to God on behalf of your neighbours and friends and family, and you also represent God to them.
The world looks at our outward appearance, but God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7) and for those who want to live for Him whole heartedly. No matter our background, education, or status, God chooses to use us, and all glory goes to Him who uses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). We want people to say not how great we are, but how great God is!
Applications:
1) Take off your coat. (2 Kings 2) What is your coat? What label do you need to remove? Allow the Father to give you an identity exchange, replacing lies with the Father’s truth.
2) Stand up. (Jeremiah 1:7) Be who the Father has created you to be. Have confidence in who God has called you to be. Stand up to your full height.
3) Send your roots deep into the Lord. (2 Chronicles 19:9) Read the Word and pay attention to God’s commands.
4) You’re going to move. (Matthew 28:18-20) Faith leads to action and witness.
Heavenly Father, help me to believe the truth that I am called, loved and chosen by you. Help me to live for your Kingdom and not the kingdom of this world. Today, I choose to take my coat off and stand up to my full height in Christ. I want to be a witness of your love and power to the people around me, in my home, community and workplace. Lead me and guide me I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
