Sharing The Gospel,
Let me tell you about J. J, a young man who one day was waiting to catch a bus in Wolverhampton, when he met 2 of members of our Evangelism Team. Our team approached him and asked him how he was and if there was anything they could pray for him about? He shared how he had felt anxious and troubled. Our team prayed, immediately those anxious thoughts, and fear left, and instead he experienced peace, hope and life.
Asking why, and what happened -our team shared the Gospel with him, the message of the good news of Jesus who transforms peoples lives and gives true lasting peace. How could J not respond now, how could he not respond and experience this life that only Jesus can offer!? He did respond and immediately felt life and peace not just for a moment but this peace and life stayed with him. Jesus had transformed J’s heart.
The next week our team were on the streets of Wolverhampton again sharing Jesus. This time they had a new team member, J! He couldn’t keep it to himself, he had to tell others about the Gospel he had heard. He finally had peace, he finally belonged. How many people in your world are like J? Just waiting for Jesus to impact their lives. Well there are many thousands! They are in your streets, communities, workplaces, shops etc. Anywhere you are they are there too.
You might ask what are they waiting for? They are waiting for you! They are waiting for you to tell them about Jesus! In Romans 10 Paul says:
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? - Romans 10:14 NIV
How will they hear if you don’t tell them? We MUST preach the Gospel! Jesus calls us all to go! You are sent to tell others about Jesus, to make disciples and bring the life transforming message of the Gospel to those waiting for you to tell them. Paul continues…
And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:15 NIV
You are sent, you have good news to tell the world about Jesus!
