We have had an outstanding conference over the last 4 days. Some have said to me that it is our best conference to date! Our speakers all bought something outstanding to the table. They were Nathan Morris (Shake the Nations), Ben Cooley (Hope For Justice) and Andrea Minichello Williams (Christian Concern For Out Nation).
The conference was all about Evangelism, Compassion and Justice. I believe these are the three big things the Church should be focused on. These few days has left us with much to reflect on. As well as encountering the presence of God powerfully we were left with a clear picture of what is happening in our world a the moment and what is required of us as believers and as the church.
The next month we will continue to push through in prayer and in fasting, which in turn will lead to Holy Spirit led action. If you missed the conference or would like the CDs they are now available from the All Nations office.
We will be meeting at the All Nations building for 9.15am and the Open
Air Outreach will take place from 10am - 12pm. We will be right in the
centre of the City at Queen Square. Please note the new time because
of a double booking by the council. If you are able please come and
support and enjoy a really fun morning together.
Monday and Tuesday evening this week (19th, 20th) 7pm-9pm we will be having two nights of 'Power and Presence'. These two special evenings are to come and encounter God in his Power and mighty presence. About a week ago I felt so strongly by the Spirit that we should create space to soak in God's presence. There is no preaching planned, no notices but we are creating time and space to be with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will spend time praising and worshipping him. I expect the gifts of the Holy Spirit to manifest and maybe prayer for people will be appropriate too. Come expectant.
Excerpt from Secrets in the Secret Place by Bob Sorge
Now, through the blood of the cross, sinful man is able to come into the immediate presence of the holy God and subject himself to the glory that will change him. As we surrender to this glory, we are being changed into the likeness of the glory of Christ! The amazing part is this-that despite our weakness and failure and sinfulness we are now able to come into the immediate presence of the altogether Holy One! What a privilege! Only a fool would neglect or avoid this place of glorious change and delightful intimacy. God has killed Himself (literally) to go out of His way to bring us into His presence.
When we step into the presence of God, we are exposing ourselves to eternally powerful forces. Everything within us changes when we touch the radiating glory that emits from His face. "For the LORD God is a sun" (Psalm 84:11). The sun provides heat, light, energy, and ultraviolet rays-radiation. When we place ourselves in the sun of His countenance, the radiation of His glory does violence to those cancerous iniquities that we often feel helpless to fully overcome. Time in His presence is perhaps the most potent procedure to deal with the chronic sin issues that plague us. You don't know you're being exposed to radiation when it first happens. People who get sun-burned don't realize they've been exposed to excessive radiation until after the damage is done. The effects of radiation are always delayed. The same is true of God's glory. When you spend time in His presence, your first thought is, "This isn't accomplishing anything." However, if you will believe the truth and just devote yourself to mega-amounts of time in His presence, the effects of spending time with Him will eventually manifest.
I know your record of works and what you are doing; you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! [16] So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth! [17] For you say, I am rich; I have prospered and grown wealthy, and I am in need of nothing; and you do not realize and understand that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Revelation 3:15-17 (AMP)
Well we have had a great start to our Call 2010 prayer conference. Both last night's and this mornings meetings have been excellent and I believe have had a prophetic edge to them. We must hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. Godfrey Birtill has led us in praise, worship and prayer in a very real, raw and authentic way.
If you are local to Wolverhampton or willing to travel in, you would be most welcome. Please see flyer on events page for full details.
Tonight at 7.30pm. Saturday morning 9.30 and Saturday evening at 7.30pm. All sessions are recorded and available on CD.
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5
After traveling for about 26 hours I arrived home safe and excited to see Esther and the kids. Have had a wonderful evening with them and about to catch up on some sleep.
Thanks so much to everyone who has been praying for us while we are here ministering in Cape Town. There has been a strong sense of God's presence in every single meeting and it has been growing.
Just a quick update at the end of a fruitful day. I have spoken at four separate events today and they have all gone well.
David and I arrived tired but safely into Cape Town on Saturday evening and have been quite busy the last two days.
Yesterday speaking at Life Church for both their services, we had a great time with a real sense of the Lord speaking to and ministering to many people. Many testimonies and encouraging conversations with people after both services.
Today I have been at Cape Theological Seminary and am their guest speaker this week as they have their spiritual emphasis week. The students were very hungry for the Lord and I believe there was a deep work happening in our lives together this afternoon. I will be with them for the next two days.
I am staying at the foot of Table mountain which is extremely beautiful and breathtaking. I was reminded this morning of Psalm 19.
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. [2] Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. [3] There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. [4] Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." Psalm 19:1-4
I will try and keep regular contact in this coming week from Cape Town. Also I encourage you to listen to Sundays message in our podcast section. Esther did a great job talking about hearing God's voice.
Tomorrow I and a brother leave to go to South Africa for a week. It's been a busy week getting ready for the trip and also full of life's normal tasks and duties.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:4-5
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
I have woken this morning really encouraged to press into the Lord and his Word. Let me encourage you to not give ip or lose hope. These are good days to be living and serving God in. Here is Part 2 of the article I posted earlier this week.
I hope you are finding these days of consecration fruitful. We are on day 7 and 14 to go. Let me encourage you to continue and do not quit. I personally found yesterday evening challenging and had to pull my mind into order and submission to my spirit. These days will help us greatly. Keep the purpose before you. I posted an article from Francis Frangipane below that will encourage you.
